It’s like Proust said, “A rising tide lifts all small literary publications.”
And Lit Mag Week follows his advice: by discussion our own publications, sharing insights of some of our favorite small press magazines, and offering a discount to #LitMagFans all over the world, we can raise the awareness of small literary and cultural publications.
Best of all – it’s easy (and free!) to take part in this year’s “LitMagWeek”.
Day 1 (MON): #LitMagWeek Discounts: we all announce that, in honor of #LitMagWeek, we are offering a discount for the next week. Maybe this is email and in Social Media. Use the store code #LitMagWeek if your store works that way.
Day 2 (TUES): “RE-introduction video” In honor of #LitMagWeek, make and share a very short video about what your magazine is, the goal, the vibe, etc.
Day 3 (WED): A publication that we read: we all use of magazine socials to share a lit mag that we enjoy reading. Extra points to tag them in your social post.
Day 4 (THURS): Throwback Thursday: Post in social media about and discuss an out-of-print literary magazine that you enjoyed. There is such a rich history that it would be fun to learn about other old mags and highlight some of the hidden ones we know about.
Day 5 (FRI): Communicate to your followers that this is the last day to take advantage of the #LitMagWeek discount.
BEST PRACTICES:
– share the content far and wide!
Aside from the obvious social platforms, consider using LinkedIn, YouTube, your website and your emails to promote LitMagWeek.com
– LitMagWeek.com acts as the hub!
Push consumers to LitMagWeek.com as much as possible. The website will feature spotlights on participating publications, interviews and highlight the discounts that each pub is offering. So link back to your own discount and content, but be sure to send people to the hub so they can find other awesome publications.
