Q; What do J. D Salinger, Chuck Palahniuk and Flannery O’Connor have in common?
A; They all were first published in literary magazine.
Literary Magazines have been around for hundreds of years but are always both the underdog, and the avant garde of literature.
Often times they operate as under-funded passion projects. This means that there is a very small, yet very dedicated team (or sometimes just one person) working hard to help bring new writing out into the world.
The are hard to classify sometimes, but all have a personality of their own. And, when you find one you love, you can almost always count on the earlier issues – or the issues to come – to be just as enjoyable.
And there is never a better time to find a few new favorites than during this year’s LitMagWeek! Take advantage of discounted issues, more access, inside looks and peer recommendations to find your next literary magazine!
